Private LESSONS for all ages

Sharing music with students has been a rewarding part of my life.   I enjoy helping students discover and develop their talents. My studio provides a creative and fun environment where we learn, jam, record and prepare to perform for audiences.

Lessons are available for

PIANO, GUITAR, BASS, MANDOLIN and BANJO

Whether blues, Christian, pop, soft rock, country, classical, new age or bluegrass, I teach to motivate by using music that inspires the students.   Whatever the instrument, they learn to read notes, understand music theory and how to apply proper technique.

Lessons are provided Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and evenings and Saturday mornings.   I provide both half hour and hour lessons.  Family discounts are available.

Music Education

There is a sign in my studio that says "Music Makes You Smarter".   Music education not only teaches notes and rhythm, but also discipline, perseverance, dependability and pride.   In order to achieve success in any endeavor there is work involved.   To become an accomplished musician takes practice and lots of it.  Dedicated music students discover music to be a unique art form for communication and expression which helps motivate them to personal and professional success.

I talk to my students about practice and how it prepares them to be able to "get inside the music" when they perform.  Here are some quotes that support my thoughts:

"You've got to learn your instrument.  Then, you practice, practice, practice.  And then, when you finally get up there on the bandstand, forget all that and just wail."

--Charlie Parker

"Motivation gets you going and habit gets you there."

--Zig Ziglar

"Don't only practice your art, but force your way into its secrets, for it and knowledge can raise men to the divine."

--Ludwig Van Beethoven

"Your talent determines what you can do.   Your motivation determines how much you are willing to do.  Your attitude determines how well you do it."

--Lou Holtz

"Play music to the tune of your heart"
